The title of each section is the first panel, with the background black and the writing in white letters. In one, Tomine and Sarah are running, and below the comic is “This nonsense stops the minute we’re married!” (15). There is a one panel in the shape of a circle, a nod to newspaper cartoons, and it repeats throughout the book. The black and white is great, with Tomine’s style bringing the story to life. The book is tiny, which fits well with the single panel comics and the typical three by three panel layout. She asks if they would be hurt because they weren’t invited (9).

Tomine says, “They wouldn’t want to come! They’d have to bring their kids on a plane, get two hotel rooms…” and Sarah points out that they flew out for their wedding.
